Shawn Puri, MD is Double Board-Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine with record of success in both multisite practice and hospitals. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from The University of Pennsylvania, he completed medical school at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ. He received his training in anesthesiology at Rutgers New Jersey School of Medicine, where he was Rutgers Golden Apple Resident Teaching Award Finalist, a two-time recipient of 1st Prize of the Annual Residents Systems-Based Practice Competition and SJ Magazine Top Doctor. He furthered his training by completing a fellowship in pain medicine at the prestigious New York University (NYU) School of Medicine in New York, NY.
With over ten years of interventional pain management and clinical research experience, Dr. Puri offers a patient-centric, multidisciplinary approach with a goal of maximized pain relief. As a national expert and patient advocate in the field of pain management, he consults with other thought leaders to help develop the newest pain therapies and participates in multiple national and local pain societies. His areas of expertise include interventional spine and neuromodulation among others. He stays at the forefront in an effort to reduce his patient’s suffering from pain, while improving their function and quality of life.
